HERE IS AN INTERVIEW WITH FAITHFUL IGHORUEMU
Tell us briefly about yourself and family?
My name is Ighoruemu Faithful O’runor, I’m 19 years old, light skin in complexion and I’m a student of the University of Port Harcourt and I come from Abraka, Delta state.
Who is your role model?
My role models are my parents, Mrs Abani Darego, the former Miss world 2001 and Viola Davis, a black American actress. They are my role models because they inspire me to always try as much as possible to improve myself and be the best I can be anywhere I find myself. Their exemplary lives, achievements and residence are one of the key factors that have brought me here.
What regrets do you have so far as a young lady and a pageant model?
A time in my life where I have felt regret is anytime I have a setback. when I am faced with a challenging task or situation instead of seeing it as a learning and growing opportunity. Being here is helping me change that narrative.
How was your FONDCUP 2022 camp experience?
My camp experience was very fun, amazing, educational, meeting new people, it made me want to push my dreams even more and most especially, I was able to truly appreciate our culture with the various activities we engaged in.
How would you describe your roommates?
They were truly the best, a bond made for a lifetime. Starting from
Miss Agbia Elizabeth representing Abia state our resource woman
Miss Imoh Precious, representing Akwa-Ibom identity hidden, was very mysterious.
Miss Fufeyin Petra representing Bayelsa states our woman leader is capable of getting people’s attention.
Miss Ukpong Esther represents Cross river, our very own queen mother.
Miss Freeborn Miracle representing Edo state our beauty queen
Miss Esinulo Shalom representing Imo state miss shally
Miss Olaboade Rachael representing Ondo state our mummy ewa
Miss Obukuru Ibelema representing Rivers state our slay mama, never to be caught unfresh
What have you learned from co-existing with your fellow maidens?
I have learned to be very understanding, caring, patient and to be tolerant as we are all different people with equally different beliefs and ideologies
Why would you want to become the next FONDCUP QUEEN?
I would like to be the next FONDCUP QUEEN to be able to make an impact and encourage young ladies like me and make them understand that with diligence, you can achieve anything you want and there is no age too young to be the best you can be. Being the next FONDCUO QUEEN would boost my confidence and enable reach for even loftier goals and finally, it would be an honour and pride to my state if I emerge the winner.
What is your possible solution to the constant crisis in the Niger Delta?
A thorough and planned cleanup will provide immediate unemployment for thousands of disaffected youths that are currently taking up arms, kidnapping and disrupting the lives of the Niger Delta.
Obviously this would cost a lot of money, but failure to clean up and find a permanent solution to the underdevelopment of Niger Delta will be even more costly in the long run.
If we start the clean up, this will immediately create thousands of jobs for the inhabitants of the Niger Delta
Which rule or law in your culture and tradition would you want to change if given the opportunity?
To entirely put an end to the practice of women circumcision
When you become FONDCUP2022 queen, what do you want the Niger Delta people to recognize for you?
I want the Niger Delta people to be known for the residence, dignity of labour and as a united people looking to achieve a common goal.
What is your life’s greatest challenge and regret?
My life’s greatest challenge is having to cope with the incessant strike which comes with schooling in a federal university in Nigeria. It gets so hard trying to adjust oneself into the system after being away for a long period of time and my regret would be being too afraid to face my fears and having to run the opposite direction when faced with challenges.
